Beyond Moderation: Automated Brand Protection
Most photo-sharing apps are built for casual, high-trust, low-stakes environments. They lack the guardrails required for professional brand activations or institutional events. SnapSpaces is different. We’ve replaced “manual moderation” with Autonomous Safety Shielding.
1. Real-Time Explicit Content Filtering
Our AI-driven engine analyzes every image at the point of upload. If the system detects explicit content, the upload is deleted before it ever reaches the gallery. For live slideshows and event walls, this means you can “Set it and Forget it,” knowing your big screen remains professional and on-brand. On certain subscription tiers, you can expand moderation to include other sensitive content such as gore and violence — these are also prevented from surfacing in your gallery but instead of being auto-deleted they go into a special moderation gallery to await admin review.
What does it block? We tried many things but here are a few examples:
- David by Michelangelo [marble statue naked man] — passed moderation
- Topless woman with bottoms on (exposed female breasts) — blocked & removed
- Group of people at the beach, men in swim trunks and shirtless — passed moderation
- Pornographic images or sex acts (other than kissing) — blocked & removed
- exposed genitalia (male or female) — blocked & removed
- Thomas Couture’s The Romans in their Decadence [suggestive painting] — passed moderation

2. The “Hard Delete” Protocol (Zero-Retrieval Policy)
Brand safety means leaving no room for error. When our system flags explicit content, it doesn’t just “hide” the file—it permanently purges the image from our servers. This is as much a values decision on the part of our company as it is peace of mind for our customers. As a company, we don’t want to play host to that content or be a tool utilized by bad actors. This “Zero-Retrieval” policy protects hosts [and us] from liability and ensures your digital space remains unsullied.
3. The Professional Audit Log: Full Accountability
Anonymity is the enemy of accountability. We realize that by not requiring accounts to upload, we have to address this by some other means. If you upload explicit images, SnapSpaces logs all the uploader information we can to make it available to the account holder so they can take action as they see fit. The host can check their blocked images log or access the moderation gallery (select subscription tiers) in SnapSpace management dashboard:
- Uploader Identity: The name they provided at the time of upload.
- Network Fingerprint: Available browser & hardware profile, and IP address of the uploading device..
- Incident Data: Precise timestamps and the specific category of content blocked.
This allows corporate security or event coordinators to address incidents with data-backed authority, without ever having to view the offensive material themselves.
Note: at present, we do not offer AI-driven content moderation on video uploads, but we do allow you to disable video uploads for high-stakes events. Moderation for videos is on the way.
